Goals/Mission Statement

Tecumseh Council's Learning for Life mission is to serve others by helping instill core values in young people and in other ways prepare them to make ethical choices throughout their lives so they can achieve their full potential.

Instructional Objectives

  • Learning for Life features grade-appropriate, theme-oriented lesson plans to be used in the classroom to enhance and support the core curriculum. Each lesson is designed to last approximately 45 minutes to an hour.
  • Teachers choose the lesson plan topics and frequency that they feel would be appropriate for their classroom.
  • Themes for the elementary and middle school programs include:

    • Caring and Fairness
    • Perseverance
    • Self-Discipline
    • Courage
    • Citizenship
    • Life Skills
    • Life Science (habitats)
    • Geography

Materials Available for Teachers/Students

  • Teacher lesson books are available for grades K-8 and special needs students.
  • Each grade level book has 50-60 lesson plans.
  • Students recognition wall charts and stickers are available for the K-6 and special needs students.
