To insure high quality programs, facilities and open space and to provide safe quality experiences through a broad base of activities for all constituents.

Instructional Objectives

The Davidson Interpretive Center, located at 5638 Lower Valley Pike, Springfield, Ohio 45506 (937/882-6000), offers visitors not only the opportunity to learn more about the battle of Peckuwe, but also to gain insight on the Shawnee
Indians who lived in the Village of Peckuwe.

Additional Information/Comments

Programs geared toward grades 2-6 however, they can be tailored for other grade levels.

  • Natural History "More Than an Animal": students will learn what animals lived in early Ohio and the many uses Indians and settlers had for these animals.

  • Some of the programs we offer can be brought into the schools.

National Trail Parks and Recreation District offers over 1600 acres of park and shelters to help provide additional educational services. Other locations include:
