Goals/Mission Statement
Ohio Lyric Theatre of Springfield is a non-profit community performing arts organization dedicated to providing quality vocal music, musical theater and children’s theater experience for participants and audiences through specifically designed programs.
Instructional Objectives
- Our KidStage program is specifically designed for 3rd through 7th graders offering workshops in a wide array of topics presented by local theatre teachers and artists and nationally touring theater professionals to help develop performances skills of young people. KidStage is co-sponsored by Ohio Lyric Theatre of Springfield and Clark State Community College Performing Arts Center.
- SummerStage offers young actors the opportunity to immerse themselves in a weeklong theater day camp with in depth experiences in theater, music, movement and creative writing. The camp is a disciplined, structured environment and combines learning with a great deal of fun and positive peer interaction. SummerStage is co-sponsored by Ohio Lyric Theatre of Springfield and Clark State Community College Performing Arts Center.
- Our Springfield Children’s Chorus exists to provide children in 4th through 9th grades with opportunity to experience growth in musical excellence and the joy of singing in an outstanding musical ensemble. The goals are to develop proper rehearsal habits, correct and beautiful singing, increased musical understanding and positive peer interaction. The chorus members gain musical and social enrichment by traveling to children’s chorus festivals and exchange concerts with other children’s choruses. Membership is by audition.
