Goals/Mission Statement

The mission the Springfield Museum of Art is to collect, exhibit and preserve works of art for the benefit of all individuals, while encouraging the education and participation in, and the enjoyment and appreciation of the arts.

  • Visual art library (over 4500 volumes)

Additional Information/Comments

  • Tours and workshops can be custom-made to cover specific standards and benchmarks.
  • Exhibitions include the permanent collection of 18th, 19th and 20th century American works plus approximately seven temporary exhibits by regional and national artists.
  • Art School programs are held in four eight/nine week terms and one two-week Winter Workshop. Two one-week art camp for 6-12 year olds are held every August.
  • Special events for families and children include Family Days, concerts, performances, Holiday workshops, and more.
